poem of the day 06.02.15

a few shorter ones:

big payoff

finding
a crumpled
dollar
in my poetry
notebook
i finally
know how
all the great ones
must’ve felt

dead me

dead me
almost
hit by cars
twice this week
dead squirrel
splattered
on 75th street
not nearly
as lucky.

hamburg in panorama

all of hamburg in panorama
is no match to you naked
and breathless above me
in this strange eternal bed.

uninvited guest

come the summer
the sun stays
later in the sky
like an uninvited guest
taking up your place
on the couch
shaking a tumbler
full of melting ice
asking, would you mind getting
off of your fat ass
to get me another drink.
