day TWO HUNDRED and THREE

ICE

They are coming for us
through the windows
and the doors
through our neighbors
and our phones.

They are coming for us
through the White House
and the police
through the subways
and our teeth.

They are coming for us
because we are not one of them
we are one of us
because we are not white
we are not welcome.

They are coming for us
and there is no sanctuary.
They are coming to pull us apart
separate families
shatter lives
because we are poor
or brown
or women.

They are coming for us.
And the man in charge says
we can’t do anything about it

But I think we can.
Because no one is an alien
and love is love is love
because I swear to a god
I don’t believe in
They’ll have to kill me first.
