day ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED and EIGHTY FOUR

Ten Days of Twilight

Before the twilight craze,
vibrant cities sang
Saturday night love songs
dinner dates lingered
at the Green Lady,
soaking up serenades
of smooth jazz.

Ten days later, strolling
magical city streets are
distant memories we long for.

Favorite neighborhood joints
serving after dinner desserts
of apple pie or cocktails
are locked and closed,
shop storefronts display
health warnings not wares.
