day NINE HUNDRED and TWENTY THREE

Today is the last day of flag month....if you're like me (and most aren't) you're probably sick of looking at this ugly piece of co-opted nationalism and its various formats....thank you, once again, to everyone who contributed, as it was a nice break from the norm...speaking of, in September, since the country itself doesn't do it (unless you count Labor Day sales), we are celebrating the American worker and the toil we go through in this mousewheel of a system just to pay our fucking bills...while the whole month won't be this, I'm going to give special focus to poems that are sent related to work and concepts of work, people's experiences at work...as always photographs/essays/rants etc are just as welcome as poetry. Stop Caging Human Beings!

we live in a world of practical
emperical, experimental military
displays as guns always in the
streets
operate outside the pale of
common decency
corporate prisons have famous
investors who smile at you through the TV
politicians back pockets are lined
with souls’s hymns sung in a single
line with one voice that is experiencing thier best days being sold back to them slowly

day EIGHT HUNDRED and NINETY THREE

Today begins July's Flag Project in which we take a look at Trump's favorite hugging and kisisng partner...the American Flag. This month I'll be posting photos taken by people of the flag in its various incarnations, begging the question....why are we so obsessed with what is seemingly one of the more mediocre flags out there....i jest...i think....anyway there are still slots open so feel free to send me your images SUBMIT2RESIST: winedrunksidewalk AT gmail DOT com
